Sonam & Veeral’s Ashridge House Hindu Wedding with an outdoor Mandap Ceremony
Sonam & Veeral’s Hindu wedding at Ashridge House was a vibrant, joy-filled celebration, combining beautiful tradition with unforgettable energy, all set against one of England’s most iconic wedding venues.
The day began with Veeral’s Baraat, the groom’s traditional arrival, led by powerful Dhol drummers and a sea of dancing guests. With music, movement, and dramatic flares cutting through the summer heat, the procession was energetic — an explosive start that filled the Ashridge grounds with sound and colour.
The ceremony took place beneath the outdoor Mandap, where Sonam made her beautiful, emotional entrance. Traditional rituals unfolded throughout, blending meaning with playful moments — including the symbolic breaking of the pot, and the ever-entertaining Joota Chupai, where Sonam’s family stole Veeral’s shoes.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the Hindu Aeki Beki where the couple searched for rings hidden in a bowl, surrounded by laughter and cheers as everyone waited to see who would find theirs first — a moment full of light-hearted competition and tradition. This was soon contrasted by the Vidaai, as Sonam said ‘goodbye’ to her family
As evening arrived, the couple both got changed and had a gorgeous first look – both loving the complete contrast of their evening outfits from the day. The traditional dance-offs were amazing and exuberant group dancing took over, with guests fully embracing the music – again accompanied by the Dhol drummers.
We have always loved capturing Indian weddings – they days are long and incredibly hard work but they are a joy to be a part of. Here is the trailer of the day and just a small selection of their wedding photography gallery.
